Downtown Participants

Artifice Ales & Mead specializes in food and beer pairings, cask ales and hybrid beer styles such as Braggot. Toss a few axes and a few pints at the same time!

During 1st “Thirstday” Artifice will offer $1 off all 20oz pours between 4:00 pm and 9:00 pm.

Balance Dance provides high-quality, technique-driven, and developmentally-appropriate instruction for all students. They use dance as a medium to encourage self-expression, collaboration, and creativity in a caring and professional environment.

Bob Swayne Real Estate will be hosting JJ Roach Art. JJ Roach is an artist and entrepreneur from Manheim, PA who uses art as a tool to cope with and spread awareness about autism. At just 17 years of age, JJ has created hundreds of beautiful pieces ranging from pen/pencil sketches to acrylic canvas paintings.

Divine Consign offers like-new clothing and accessories for the entire family, plus furniture and home decor. Find new and unique gifts (many hand-made), cards, candles, and other curiosities. Now selling new items from Primitives by Kathy.

Visitors to the Fasig House will find various artifacts that date from the late 1700s to the late 1800s, diving into the life, work and culture of early German settlers in Manheim. During 1st Thursday the Fasig House will be open (along with the Keath House), with a representative from the Manheim Historical Society present to answer any questions you may have.

All food trucks will be located in Trinity EC’s parking lot. The church is located at 48 Market Square. The trucks will be behind the church in their parking lot, accessible at the intersection of Danner Alley and North Charlotte St. Participating food trucks include TaGo’s Tacos, Rad-ish, and Wich Way Sandwiches.

Francesco’s provides the Manheim community with quality, authentic Italian food.

During 1st Thursday, Francesco’s will be offering $2 off any large pizza.

Glasshouse Wineworks creates well-crafted wines accompanied by a welcoming atmosphere. Until their tasting room opens in Manheim later this year, you can purchase their wines and ciders via their website, or—on 1st Thursday—in front of their soon-to-open location on South Charlotte Street!

During 1st Thursday, Glasshouse Wineworks will be hosting Fetish Brewing Co.

The Hope Fire Company in Manheim is 100% volunteer—serving the community since 1812!

Stop by the fire company—and be sure to bring the kids as there will be crews in firetrucks for the community.

Horst Arts offers a series of unique art-based events that provide the perfect solution for a fun night out. From crafting competitions to informative roundtables to kid crafts, they have something for all ages. Horst Arts is also the working art studio of collage artist Katherine Horst, and the design studio of Jason Horst, offering graphic design and web development services for the past 20 years.

Horst Arts will be featuring the artwork of oil painter Holly Lee and artist/calligrapher Hannah Weston. They will also have a large quantity of beautiful Cozy Cottage pillows on sale.

Nominated the best thrift shop in Lebanon County five years in a row, Jubilee has something for everyone with locations in six locations—including Manheim!

Believed to be one of the oldest, early colonial-era German log cabins in Manheim, the Keath House is truly a gem of the Historical Society. During 1st Thursday the Keath House will be open (along with the Fasig House), with a representative from the Manheim Historical Society present to answer any questions you may have.

Stop by and learn about all Manheim Community Library has to offer the community. Check out their new employment resources with current opportunities from their participating sponsors. Don’t have a library card? Applications will be available to sign up for one.

Mill 72 is a family-owned bake shop and café that has a passion for baking and coffee. It’s is a space where you can connect, unwind and enjoy their delicious offerings. During 1st Thursday they will be offering drinks and baked goods (no prepared food).

The Mini Park is located on the southeast corner of the main intersection—between the Town Clock and the Library. For November’s 1st Thursday live music will be provided by Rob’s Rock School from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm, and by Bekah Jones from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Nearly Nu is a thrift shop with household items and clothing to meet all of your needs. The shop is non-profit and gives its profits back to the community and various charities. The shop has one manager and any workers you see in the shop are volunteers and donate their time as a way to give back to the community. If you’re interested in volunteering, donating, or have any questions, please don’t hesitate to stop in or give them a call!

Sloan’s Pharmacy has helped customers in the Manheim area since 1983. They are constantly expanding to include many patient care services, such as blood pressure monitoring, patient counseling, home delivery, medicare billing, and much more.

St. Paul’s UCC is making a difference in the Manheim community through the love of Christ for all to know God, love God, and serve God!

Stop by to learn about this group of private citizens who are volunteering their time to raise funds for a memorial plaza in the borough’s Veterans Memorial Park to honor Manheim’s former and current service members.

Local Christian-living author, Rachel D. Lyne, will have copies of her book, "The Apple, A Woman's Battle Plan: Overcoming Forbidden Fruit in Marriage." Come and chat with Lyne and get your signed copy of "The Apple!" Rachel will also have free local apples.

Teen Central will be serving free hot chocolate in front of Trinity EC on the Square! Grab a cup and learn more about what this organization offers in Manheim.

The Women’s Club of Manheim is an organization of Manheim women committed to friendship, community service, and civic responsibility. The club is a nonprofit organization that contributes more than $10,000 each year to the Manheim community.

Join Acorn Farms throughout the summer for BBQ Thursdays! Pulled pork, pulled turkey and smoked beef brisket sandwiches will be available along with BBQ chicken halves. Dinners come with hot and cold sides and a drink starting at $10 each. Outdoor patio available—show up before the food runs out!

Family owned and operated for over 30 years, The Cat’s Meow is not your typical themed restaurant. Enjoy their 20s decor and their delicious (and whimsically-named) menu.

Hearth and Harrow is a restaurant, bistro, coffee bar, and outdoor patio where friends can relax and families can gather. They partner with local, Lancaster County food vendors to bring the Farm-to-Table movement to the Manheim community. Bekah Jones

Joining us for November’s 1st Thursday is Bekah Jones, a singer/songwriter from Lancaster, PA. Beka performs original songs and adds her own acoustic-rock spin on classics from the 1960s to today!

Wich Way Sandwiches specialize in sandwiches and paninis and we are excited to have them at July’s 1st Thursday! Look for them—and all of our food trucks—at the Zion Lutheran parking lot on Hazel Street.

Rad-ish Food Truck prepares and serves seasonally-inspired, upscale American dishes: seasonal grain bowls, rice and beans, caribbean pork sandwiches, and grilled cheese. They make food to savor, to nourish, and to make life fun again!

Stop by the fire company—and be sure to bring the kids as there will be crews in firetrucks for the community.

The Manheim Boro Police Dept will be on hand throughout the evening with a foot patrol/bike patrol in the area to interact with the community. Please say hello!

Get Involved

Downtown Manheim Businesses

Manheim’s 1st Thursdays provide an opportunity for your business to reach potential customers from both inside and outside the Manheim area, while contributing to the health of the community via these ongoing celebrations. In order to be listed as a 1st Thursday participating business, you must:

  • Commit to being open from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Thursday, August 5th.
  • Be open for walk-ins (we encourage everyone to follow current COVID protocols) OR conduct some sort of business or promotion outdoors on your business property.
  • Be a member of the Manheim Area Chamber of Commerce

If you’re not a Chamber member, we would still love to have you participate in the event—however you will not be listed as a participating business. Consider becoming a member today! Per Manheim Borough ordinance, any business conducting sidewalk activities during 1st Thursdays must clear that activity with the organization running the event (Manheim Area Chamber of Commerce).

Businesses Outside of Downtown Manheim

Are you a business outside of the downtown area that would like to participate in 1st Thursdays? You have three options:

  • If you’re a Chamber member and you will be open for business from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Thursday, August 5th, and will be open for walk-ins (we encourage everyone to follow current COVID protocols) or will have outdoor activities for the public on your property, let us know and you will be listed on the website as an activity outside of the downtown area.
  • If you would like to set up a vending table along the outer sidewalks of Market Square (or in the old firehouse during darker months), please complete an application. Preference is given to Chamber members. Not a member? Become one today!
  • Team up with another downtown business and use their space. If you’re interested in this option but need help finding a space, please let us know.

Food Trucks/Street Vendors

We are excited to have outside street vendors and food trucks be a significant part of 1st Thursdays. The applications supplied below outline all regulations and requirements for being approved as a street vendor or food truck participant. There is currently no fee, though this may change for future months.

We are looking for musicians to perform outdoors in downtown Manheim during 1st Thursdays. If you are interested in performing, contact Please include a description of your performance style, an overview of your setup, and how much you would charge.

Sponsorship Opportunities

Events like 1st Thursdays are made possible by the generous contributions of local businesses. Below are the sponsorship options. Contact for details.

  • Title Sponsor: There will be only one title sponsor per month. Visiting, you’ll see a 300x600 ad space near the top reserved for the title sponsor (300x250 on mobile). That ad is something you can supply—or if you don’t have an ad, we will create an ad for you as part of your sponsorship package. You would just need to supply your logo, an appropriate photo (if desired), and a very brief headline and/or message. That ad would link to your website and would appear from the time you sign up until the Saturday after 1st Thursday. In addition, you would receive one dedicated post via the Chamber’s Facebook and Instagram accounts, and one dedicated post via the #ilovemanheim Facebook and Instagram accounts. The price for being a title sponsor is $300.
  • Event Sponsor: Visiting, you’ll see spaces for event sponsors below the map. Here is where we would include your logo (which would link to your business). In addition, you would receive one dedicated post via the Chamber’s Facebook and Instagram account. The price for being an event sponsor is $150.
